Phillip Holden Joins the Firm

Congratulations to Phillip Holden, who joins the law firm as its first associate. Phillip clerked for the firm for 2 years while attending the University of Miami, School of Law.

Born to a mother of Cuban descent and a father of Cuban-American descent, Phillip was raised with a strong family influence. Early desires had Phillip on a track for a career in accounting. He attended Florida International University on a full academic scholarship and earned a Bachelors in Accounting in 2001. He quickly realized he was best suited for a degree in law.

Phillip began law school the next year at the University of Miami. He was involved in several organizations, including the Criminal Law Society and Tax Law Society. Phillip interned at the Miami-Dade Police Department’s Legal Bureau, continuing a family tradition of law enforcement. While at the Legal Bureau, he contributed to an article on consular notification that was published in two journals and participated in the formation of the Department’s taser policy.

Phillip has hit the ground running. Just a few days after passing the bar exam, he was handling hearings and depositions. We hope to get him involved in a trial in the next few months.
