The Alvarez Firm Wins 2 Consecutive Tobacco Trials

Alex Alvarez teamed up with the law firm of Paige Trop & Ameen to battle against big tobacco. In two consecutive trials within a couple of months of each in Fort Lauderdale, Florida the team was successful against Phillip Morris USA and R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company who combine for the majority of the cigarette market in the United States. The juries awarded nearly $10 million to the families of the smokers.

The smokers started smoking in the 1940s as young teens when the health effects of smoking was still unknown to the public. The trials exposed the tobacco companies conspiracy that last 56 years to cast doubt on the safety of smoking to the public and the U.S. government. 18 million Americans have died of smoking related illnesses before the Tobacco companies finally admitted the truth.
