Phillip Holden

Born to a mother of Cuban descent and a father of Cuban-American descent, Phillip was raised with a strong family influence. Early desires had Phillip on a track for a career in accounting. He attended Florida International University on a full academic scholarship and earned a Bachelors in Accounting in 2001. He quickly realized he was best suited for a degree in law.

Phillip began law school the next year at the University of Miami. He was involved in several organizations, including the Criminal Law Society and Tax Law Society. Phillip interned at the Miami-Dade Police Department’s Legal Bureau, continuing a family tradition of law enforcement. While at the Legal Bureau, he contributed to an article on consular notification that was published in two journals and participated in the formation of the Department’s taser policy.

His law curriculum furthered the accounting experience and steered Phillip in the path of tax law. It was when Phillip began working for Mr. Alvarez as a law clerk during law school he recognized he appreciated working on behalf of the “working man” rather than “Corporate America”. Upon admission to the Florida Bar, Phillip was asked to stay on as an attorney. Phillip is currently involved in all facets of litigation, in both state and federal court.
